Azure Ray在音乐的表现上最引人注目的是Maria Taylor 和Orenda Fink默契绝佳,清新淡雅的和声,空心吉他,钢琴的器乐演奏以及优美的旋律都是聆听的重点,她们的曲风像是不吵闹时候的Throwing Muses,表现出纤细脆弱情感时的Kristin Hersh和Tanya Donelly 姐妹两,有些曲子又有着Ma Star 的梦幻感.
Maria Taylor和Orenda Fink出生于美国乔治亚州Athens。两人十六岁时结识于阿拉巴马州立艺术学校，Maria主修芭蕾，Orenda主修戏剧，都对音乐保持强烈兴趣。毕业后搬到内布达加斯州Omaha 参加了power pop乐队Little Red Rocket，之后组成低调民谣风格的Azure Ray。所加入的独立厂牌Saddle Creek，像个大家庭，乐手都在两个以上的乐队演出，彼此熟识，相互支援，例如Azure Ray常与Bright Eyes巡回演出，让Omaha成为近年来美国中西部独立摇滚的重要基地。
2003年的「 Hold on Love」是Azure Ray的第三张专辑，兩人的和声仍是焦点，吉他与钢琴的表現依旧令人心折，值得推荐给无可救救的吉他爱好者。一开始的"The devil\'s feet"提及古老故事的诅咒，为了金钱出卖爱情，为了爱情出卖灵魂。"Look to me"有着台湾校园民歌的动人本质，旋律优美，唱着逝去不返的愛恋，那是鼻酸心痛的滋味，的确，爱情是世界上最困难的事。" The drinks we drank last night"、"Across the ocean"、"If you fall" 都是轻缓醉人的民谣，呼应着苏格兰Camera Obscura及瑞典Club 8等乐队，此外，曲子里钢琴演奏值得注意，特別是""Nothing like a song"从一分四十五秒开始的钢琴独奏，具有萧邦作品的品质。专辑里也增加了更多的电子节奏，像是"New Resolution"处处是电流四溢机械嘎喳的声响，而"We Are Mice"已有Portishead式的Tri-Hop 魅惑，另整张专辑更有变化。最后一首与专辑同名的歌曲"Hold On Love"，Maria与Orenda唱到：
